WATER OVER THE DAM

A story of the Farmington Canal project in Connecticut, and the stormy battle waged for its development and operation, a battle against greed and ignorance. Here, through the story of young Titus Todd and his checkered matrimonial career, is told the story of this unfamiliar phase of New England's history. Titus was in love with one of the Dickinson twins; the other one- who got into trouble- fooled him into marrying her-and later betrayed him and the Canal he had worked for. At the end, he and the girl he loved, found happiness.
