KIRKUS REVIEW

Lane's Cove, Maine, was the setting for the popular Roof Over Our Heads. Now comes another Lane's Cove story, with a new heroine, as Isabel Worthington, High School senior, is faced with the problem of her big family, particularly of the father who needs to regain his self respect after years of discouragement. Isabel must battle false pride, unkind gossip, indifference- and make the turn to security and decent living. She and her brothers do all they can to help, but this is Isabel's story, as she tackles adult problems, keeps on the right footing with herown crowd, and meets the challenge of growing up successfully, Girls like stories of human relationships, and this has all the prime ingredients, skillfully blended. It has an adult look about it too.
