A dog story illustrated by the popular Wesley Dennis is always sure of a happy reception. Reddy, the best bird dog up and down the river, provides a lively, adequate story. She went hunting in the fall with her beloved master, Mr. Hoope, and had puppies in the spring which she and Mr. Hoope trained for hunting in the fall. It was a wonderful life until the fateful day when Mr. Hoops, mother-in-law's allergies drove the dogs out of the house to live in the little village city hall basement, where they all had to adjust to some important changes. Happily they did, and when it seemed as if they had outstayed their welcome, Reddy proved her usefulness to the community in a dog-like way.
