Suggested as a Read Aloud Book, because of the difficulty of the Negro dialect for many small readers. In addition, the type face is too small for inexperienced eyes. And yet it is a delightful little book, and good story of a small darky who wanted to grow up and do the things grown-ups did. Not until he went to the sugaring party, and found himself necessary for climbing the pecan tree, did he realize the advantages of being a small boy.
