Subtitled ""How to Buy, Dry, and Arrange Flowers that Last,"" this book emphasizes the use of plastic flowers in home decor. Plastic may be processed to look like glass, pearlized, etc., and offers the opportunity for permanent perfect blooms. The author takes up the technique of arranging them (stressing inventiveness), basic principles of flower arranging in general, including the ikebana or Japanese approach. She discusses choice of containers, tells where to find permanent flowers, fruit and foliage, how to use the silica gel method to dry flowers or to make a Della Robbia wreath for Christmas. Her suggestions are in line with increasing variety, quality and availability of artificial flora, suggesting a certain marketability.
