KIRKUS REVIEW

In its setting and background -- the Mormon colonies from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas -- and the trail between, this is unique, so far as I know. A good story, that seems to shift in its focus but that nevertheless makes entertaining reading, of a little girl, unhappy in her new surroundings after her mother's death, and of her adventures in seeking a sense of home and happiness.
