TENDERFOOT GOLD

This is a somewhat routine plot -- the story of a family, denuded of their wealth and moving to a mining town, in hopes of rehabilitating their fortunes -- and of the share the young daughter had in achieving the end. But it is taken out of the routine class by the fact that Miss McDonough writes exceedingly well, and makes her characters live, her families ring true, and that she gives one the feel of authenticity in background and period.
