KIRKUS REVIEW

The Antarctic venture of six Frenchmen and an Australian is reported by the leader of the expedition that wintered in 1952 in French Adelie Land. With the aims of the expedition to study the biology, meteorology, geology, tides etc. in Adelie Land, there is much comment too on the personal effects of life in the cold. A creature commentary that may hit some new readers for this type of book.
