PERFECTING FIONA

The second in Chesney's new series about the ever-down-and-out, 50-ish Tribble sisters--who once again hire themselves out as professional chaperones for ""difficult"" girls. During this particular London Season, their charge is the lovely Miss Fiona--Scottish, outspoken, and, worst of all, dead-set against marriage. It seems that Fiona's parents' marriage was a miserably unhappy one (at least to Fiona's eyes)--and now it is up to Amy and Effie (each with romantic/wifely aspirations of her own) to not only find a suitable mate for Fiona but also convince her that marriage and love can, indeed, go hand in hand. Rich and handsome Lord Peter Havard seems to fit the bill--but will this well-known rake and womanizer be one more suitor ""frightened away"" by Fiona? Meanwhile, the villainous Mr. Callaghan lurks about, waiting (still) to take his revenge on the Tribble sisters. . . Straight to the cheery, predictable end, Chesney again charms and delights: a bonbon for those partial to Regency romances.
