THE LITTLE PRINCESSES by Marion Crawford

THE LITTLE PRINCESSES

By

Pub Date: July 13th, 1950
Publisher: Harcourt, Brace

This story of princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose by their governess, who had been with them since her charges were five and two respectively, should have a great appeal for girls. ""Crawfie"" tells all -- royal Christmases, lessons, trips and clothes, with an intimate portrait of the royal family in the grim pre-war years and the privations of the war period. Also a glimpse at Elizabeth's first royal flutterings when she became aware of Philip; Margaret Rose's social life and Elizabeth's baby. The glamor of royalty with a view of the demanding life of royal responsibility- a bit starry-eyed but has a strong ""celebrity"" appeal.
