A TOUCHDOWN FOR DOC

More story and less football-how-to-do than in most of the books with which Marion Renick has had to do (she has written on her own, or in collaboration with her husband, a series on sports). There's a new slant here, combining carnival atmosphere and romance and rival football teams, as Jack Randall accidentally walks into a lot of excitement when, with the help of ""Doc"" (who sells lotions and nostrums at the carnival), he organizes a team to counter the snooty team outfitted by the bully's mother. With ups and downs and lots of practice, Jack and the team make that touchdown for Doc, who is going to settle down in the nice friendly town with the popcorn lady as his wife.
