JOHN'S BACK YARD CAMP

Boisterous, home grown eight year old adventures show that happiness is where you find it. When his parents decide to go to Mexico for the summer, John- whose dearest wish is to go to camp- is disappointed to be left alone with his younger sister Shirley, Choochoo a friend's son, and Aunt Marty who is to take care of them. But with Choochoo's previous camping experiences, they devise their own set up- a tent and grill in the backyard, camp rules, and projects- and with the concurrent adventures the result is a far better time than John had ever imagined. Good fare, by an author who knows how kids feel (see Pete's Home Run etc.).
