ADVENTURES IN STITCHES by Mariska Karasz

ADVENTURES IN STITCHES

By

Pub Date: Sept. 7th, 1949

An unusual sort of embroidery book, this is designed to show that it can be creative, an outlet for imagination rather than copying patterns. There are complete instructions with diagrams for doing different types of stitches, divided into groups of flat, looped, chained, knotted, detached and composite. There are examples of the types of designs that can be achieved. The illustrations are sometimes primitive- sometimes modern in following. Specialized -- for those who want to paint with the needle.
