KIRKUS REVIEW

Mexican border for successful sleuthing by Sheriff Odom of a two corpse mystery, further entangled by family rifts, an uncommunicative Army Officer, a bedridden widow, her shy stepson, bitter stepdaughter, chip on the shoulder nurse, shooting, poison and hints of subversive activities. Aimless red herrings keep the yarn only adequate.
