STRAW HAT SUMMER

The glamour, the glitter, the sweat and the tears of the legitimate stage became a reality to Gail Prentice, 18, when the Wicket Theatre Players used the old red barn on her family's farm for a summer theatre. As an apprentice at the theatre, Gail learned to care for taciturn but charming Bill Turner--and at summer's end she learned his true identity, the son of America's most celebrated dramatic couple. A season of summer stock brought Gail into contact with artistic temperament and Cobb Center prospered through the new attraction which drew the state governor, a university president and other notables as visitors. Light love and summer-stock, this has an expected happy ending when Gail gets her man.
