RUNAWAY LINDA

This looks like a younger book than it actually is, so don't be misled into selling it as such. Linda was an unwanted orphan, and -- with her younger brother -- had been shunted from pillar to post in Carolina, where she had always lived. Then came a strange and unpleasant uncle from Indiana,to take them back to his home -- and on the way, Linda discovered that her aunt was dead. She escaped from the tourist train and its ignominy, taking her brother along -- and they found refuge and kindliness in a prosperous Indiana farmhouse. A good story, well told.
