KIRKUS REVIEW

Buoyant, credible family story and romance, centered on Polly, smart, ambitious (to be a lawyer), and saddled with a big, scatterbrained family, whose dependence deprives her of her chance. Then she meets Dan, who wants to be a farmer and hates being a salesman -- and Dan, to make sure she knows her own mind, gives her the chance to study at the University, almost loses her to a go-getter she meets there, but finally wins out. Robust, realistic writing and balanced characterization.
