Sound help in the form of recipes and cooking-preparation tips for those suffering from common food allergies. Jones explains the basics of healthy nutrition; of ingredient-substitution, to avoid common allergens (corn and wheat extracts, for example, are in an astounding number of prepared foods and hence, most difficult to avoid); of rotary diets to discover hidden allergies; and of the ""allergy-free kitchen"" (some non-food substances, such as carpeting or ornaments, may cause problems as well). But the bulk of the guide is given over to recipes, from breakfasts to snacks to holiday menus, which are appealingly un-exotic and allow for necessary substitutions. True, the ground has been covered equally well elsewhere--most recently, in the Allergy Information Association's Food Allergy Cookbook (p. 205)--but this will benefit from the ready-made Prevention audience.
