EDRA OF THE ISLANDS

The islands"" are in the Bay of Fundy, off the coast of northeastern Maine, or so it seems. Edra is cut off from a normal girl's life by poverty and by her stern father's arbitrary code, and her sister's morbidity. Then Edra gets a chance to work as waitress at a small resort inn, and has her eyes opened to other aspects of life, to which she readily responds. Into this setting is worked a readable story, not of vital importance, but good entertainment.
