An engaging story of a little dragon -- somewhat overlong, for the average small listener, but charming. The illustrations in color and black and white will delight children who like fanciful, imaginative things. Artie, the little dragon, is an only child, and wants a playmate. On an adventurous trip he finds a lonely Princess who has to invent companions, in spite of the people who live in her castle. Artie practices hard to use his wings for flying, and eventually finds the special talent for breathing fire which frightened him, of value when his Princess' home is attacked by her cousin from the sea. All turns out well and the Dragon family move into the mountains to be near the royal household.
