How turtles Edgemont and Blanche, each about 99, come out of the retirement doldrums and start to have fun when they meet one another. Blanche, a gaudily attired former performer, dances again (""It's the turtle trot, la-de-lah, la-de-dah"") and Edgemont, appealingly drab and shabby, cooks gingerbread and tells such good stories about his past that soon Blanche's kitchen is filled with children (mice, frog, whatever) who come to listen and stay to eat gingerbread and dance along. The message for pre-schoolers is less than urgent; still, without breaking into a jig themselves, they'll be happy for Edgemont.
