UNCLE BORIS AND MAUDE

Maude Mole woke up early. 'I have one hundred and eleven things to do today,' she said. 'Lucky me!'"" And that's the difference between Maude and her Uncle Boris, who not only is bored, but worries about being bored. But when even the monster Maude hires to shake Boris up fails to impress him, Maude herself goes into a slump--and in helping her to spruce up her house and her spirits, Boris also revives. The humor inherent in the contrasting personalities is nicely demonstrated in the incidental developments, and McLean's silly-looking moles add to the amusement. (Alas, though, the printers seem to have switched some lines early on, effectively spoiling a surprise for Uncle Boris.)
