Here is another side of the ""place in the country"" story, in the adventures of a country real estate broker. By the time the reader has shared her problems with recalcitrant, unreasonable prospects, with owners who can't make up their minds about how and when and what to sell, with details of putting through the deed, sympathy- which has previously been with the eager seeker- begins to switch to the broker. Amusing phases of human nature to read about- irritating and disillusioning to experience. The background is New Hampshire-familiar hunting ground to those who seek a mountain view and a brook of their own. Slight -- but appealing.
