THE DARK REMAINS

That's a persistent darkness, not a heap of caliginous bones: Third installment of Anthony's fantasy (The Keep of Fire, 1999, etc.) set in Castle City, Colorado, and the otherworld Eldh. This time, dysfunctional Earthfolk Travis Wilder and Grace Beckett have returned to Earth to get medical assistance for the severely wounded Eldh knight Beltan. Naturally, the bad guys follow. Back on Eldh, meanwhile, the usual stout band of friends must struggle against the usual nameless evil, with—when was it not?—the fate of the universe at stake. With an abundance of outstanding fantasy readily available these days, only true fans will or need bother with this.
