KIRKUS REVIEW

Yank was a pet of one of the soldiers who was being shipped to French Morocco. He was smuggled aboard the transport and adopted by the man, and later by the unit in Africa. His puppy adventures, his useful training to obey commands, and finally the outcome of the training when on a dark night, he saves his patrol from the hidden enemy and a machine gun. The Diana Thorn pictures, in two color reproduction, are perhaps a little on the pretty-pretty side for a book made to order for small boys. Timely value plus dog hero makes this very saleable.
