KIRKUS REVIEW

An enigma becomes a rebuke to the new universe of the scientists- the Extrapolators, when Eden, one of the planets they have colonized, is suddenly cut off from all communication. Young Junior Extrapolator Cal Gray is assigned to Eden, but finds on landing there that while human life has endured- all its paraphernalia (clothes, homes, equipment) has disappeared. During the days to follow, his speculations on the eighth key to Eden range from the astrophysical to the metaphysical and shatter the stereotypes of scientific thinking. Onward and upward- but the parallel is easily followed and recognized.
