FOREST RANGER by Mark Layton

Email this review

Action packed story of independent young forest ranger out to protect the great reserves against a motley collection of greedy cattle and sheep interests, vicious outlaws, and human wolves, familiar to those who know their Westerns. The girl who eventually appreciated her pistol-packing sweetheart is here too. Set in Theodore Roosavelt's era, this dramatic story of the struggle to establish conservation is one with much of appeal to adventure-loving boys. Romance, gold, forests, wild life, and the teaming wealth of the west when it was wild make this a vivid, if somewhat stereotyped story.
