KIRKUS REVIEW

In the waning days of centuries of warfare between the forces of magic and those of science, Aden, an operative of the enigmatic Special Office, embarks on an espionage mission into the territory of the magicians. He manages to return to his own empirical world, minus a miraculous eye that perceives spectra beyond the normal. The eye lodges in the socket of a unicorn who uses it as a weapon in the last battle of the Wizard's War. Somewhere in this muddle there lurks a point or two, but it's purblind in terms of edification or entertainment.
