DISASTER THROUGH AIR POWER by Marshall Andrews

DISASTER THROUGH AIR POWER

One man's ""presentation of a viewpoint"" which differs from the one which is currently popular, this is a strong attack against the single doctrine of airpower. Based on the record of World War II where land power won the war in Europe, sea power the war in the Pacific, and going back further in time for other supporting evidence, Andrews shows the dangers of air power's bid for empire, the limitations of this branch of service. He also forecasts the possibilities of war with Russia and what kind of war; discusses the ultimate weapon- man, as well as the atom bomb; and makes his plea for the balanced force solution, and for the preparatory, precautionary measures we must take today. There are arguments here with which many militarists- as he anticipates- may take issue, but to the average reader (will he read it?) this makes sense.
