KIRKUS REVIEW

Mr. Hodge is a California marriage counselor and this is a simplification/amplification of the psychological strictures which inhibit,-males and females, parents and children, much of it in terms of Johns and Janes from his practice. Rejection is often prompted by self-hatred, and there are various escapes (mental illness, alcoholism, homosexuality); he also explains anger--reconverted creatively, fear, guilt, aspects of love and/or sex, family relationships. As these things go, down, sensible, approachable.
