""Good but not great"" during his years with Houston (""the team itself. . . was among the worst in the league""), Joe was traded in 1971 to the Cincinnati Reds--where in the final game of the 1975 World Series, he hit ""that darn blooper"" that won the Reds their first world championship in 35 years. The Reds won the World Series again in 1976, and Joe in the same two consecutive years was voted the Most Complete Player of the National League.
