PHIL ESPOSITO

A quartet of large print sports heroes, including the redoubtable Billie Jean King who, ironically, considering her singhmindedness on court, nearly gave up the game for marriage and whose match with Bobby Riggs is treated good-humoredly. Other stars include O. J. Simpson who says that football was originally an outlet for anger and Larry Csonka who gives credit to his rough and tumble upbringing. The Burchards manage to stay fairly relaxed within the confines of their format, though the combination of news photos and crude black and white drawings tends to give this line-up a mass produced look.
