KIRKUS REVIEW

Sub-titled ""Adventures in Collecting and Selling South American Animals"", this is based on Mrs. Latham's own experience and although she knows a great deal about her business, it does not justify or excuse the book which is no more than a jumbled continuity of anecdotes and lame witticisms. There is really very little solid information on the animals themselves, on the actual work and specific problems involved in finding and importing them, and only a few passages of practical advice on pet care. One can gather that Mrs. Latham spent a great deal of time in the Choco jungle region of Colombia, and that her crowning achievement was the bringing-back-alive of a species of giant earthworm. She has also spent a lot of time in television appearances and publicity stunts, and the mishaps to which they led do not come off any better here.
