BLACKBOARD BEAR by Martha Alexander

Out! Out! Out! needed no words and this gets by with very few; the pert drawings do the rest. Told that he's too little to play cowboys and Indians, too little to play cops and robbers, told, in fact, to ""go play with your teddy bear,"" little boy pitches teddy bear out of window, draws giant blackboard bear, and, taking him on a lead, refuses to let big boys hold him or pat him or ride him. Then he takes the bear in to lunch--which consists of blackboard cowboy, Indian, cop and robber. Delicious.
