KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of The Healing Woods (1952) tells more about her life in the Adirondacks, which she learned to love so much while regaining her health that she refused to leave. The house to be repaired, the animals, the continued self-education all take on an ""I must tell you about this"" quality- and though there is tragedy in romance, Martha returned to draw on her inner resources.
