THE SECRET OF COOKING FOR DOGS

Well- not just for the woman who wants to lead a dog's life--although, on Park Avenue (natch), there's a toy poodle (natch) named Fifi (natch) whose owner cooks arroz con pollo for her once a week. However, the purpose of this book is really not to pamper your pet- but to keep him or her healthy: commercial foods are fine (if liked) but table scraps are not. And in between, Mr. Gardner has some varied recipes, fish, meats, etc. (some with objectionable tags- ""entrail delight"" ""cottage cheese caress"") along with special suggestions for your pregnant or lactating dog, the puppies, and the senior citizens. 60 black and white linecuts illustrated and other recommendations, all vetted by the Dr. Speck of dogdom, Dr. Kinney.
