ANTI-SEMITISM AND EMOTIONAL DISORDER

Report repeated from the September 1st bulletin when scheduled for fall publication- as follows: ""One of the five volumes in the Series, Studies in Prejudice, of interrelated investigations, which have been undertaken by the American Jewish Committee, all of which will be published by Harper. These first five studies, which are all concerned with individual dynamics and not group dynamics, are all of a somewhat specialized nature. And this one uses the psychoanalytic method and evidence to relate anti-semitism and emotional disorder. The definition of bias; the methodological approach and data collection; on to the clinical picture, based on the casework of many contributing psychiatrists. Primarily surveyed are the emotional factors which predispose the individual toward anti-semitism; the genetic influences; the social and group pressures which may motivate intolerance... For study and reference, chiefly scientific and sociological.
