It is extremely difficult to place this in a specific age category since the material is applicable to those ranging in age from 10 through early adulthood. The determining factors for recommendation are mathematical ability, but even more crucial (since these are meant for a wide audience) is a definite predilection for mathematics. Requiring the exercise of concentrated logic, each puzzle is given in the manner of a question or anecdotal situation with a follow-up solution and accompanying explanatory remarks that indicate the error of a too obvious conclusion. There are arithmetic puzzles dealing with weight, money and speed, game puzzles, problems in plane and solid geometry and probability queries. Here is a challenge for the intellectually gifted elementary grader or Junior High student as well as a concise understandable supplementary aid for those on grade level.
