SOMEONE YOU LOVE IS DYING: A Guide for Helping and Coping

John Updike once commented that the interview is a half form like maggots. One of the maggots of the business (The Love Treatment; The Do-It-Yourself Psychotherapy Book), with his indiscriminate hand on the controls of his tape deck, has recorded what victims or survivors feel whether it's a cancer case (the main category here)or a suicide or the man whose wife died having a nose job. Shepard shares the current belief that you should tell a dying person all; discusses pain and the easement of dying at home; the family (often it's hardest on them); legal problems; grief (sharing it before and after); therapies from chemo to orgone to miracle; and he sprinkles like ashes famous last words of wisdom, epitaphs, etc., etc. throughout. Also some of the tenets of Dr. Kubler-Ross whose book is far more essential than this one pillaged from the endless literature on the subject.
