This is not a book for immediate quick sales, but a book that should take its place beside Mind in the Making as a study of biological evolution as reflected by man's intelligence. Our perceptions are sharpened today be recognition of the linkage of brute and reason; this history shows how slowly brute man has been brought into semi-control, and the conclusion, in facing today's repetition of historical patterns of the past, would seem to indicate that evolution is not yet complete.
