FIDDLER CRAB by Mary Adrian

FIDDLER CRAB

Pub Date: Sept. 15th, 1953

Far better than her sentimental Honeybee (1952) is this small study of a fiddler crab's quite fascinating life cycle. From birth, through stages as a zoea, a megalops and a regular crab (who fights quite dramatically with his large claw) there are careful details of size, body construction, transformations etc. And from this synthesized history, typical of all crabs, there is a strong sense of the myriad life cycles of the whole undersea.
