KIRKUS REVIEW

Another stagy adventure by the author of many (see The Tugbeat Mystery, The Firehouse Mystery, etc.) is set in the West where David Price's parents have some to run the Frontier Motel and hunt for uranium on the side. Left in charge for an evening, David registers an odd stranger and next morning finds both the family savings and the geiger counter gone. Detecting with two young friends, however, reveals not the stranger as the culprit, but a seemingly friendly biologist, also a motel resident, who needed the money and meant to repay it. A uranium strike tope this off but it seems too dramatized a lesson in basic social responsibilities.
