Stories of the New Testament simply told for young children. In giving this title to the book, Miss Jones has set the key for her approach, for her stories stress Jesus' gift for friendship. Starting with the story of the boy Jesus in the Temple with the teachers; then the first disciples, the people he helped, the children, the miracles, the episode of the money changers, the Last Supper, the arrest in the Garden, and then the jump over time to the resurrection and the ascension. The versions are dignified and reverent enough for the fundamentalist; and yet human enough for the modern child. But the format of the book is unattractive, the illustrations poor. To be used, primarily, by adults with children.
