The Hobermans' combined efforts weigh heavy on the world of fantasy which child builds. Jim's secret things-- his tunnelled contact with China, his thoughts of pushing his finger through the sky, etc.-- are depicted in stiff, half-alive cartoon-type drawings. Jim's hasty jaunt through this imaginative realm will doubtless fail to evoke identification among conscientious castle-builders. The Hobermans worked on How Do I Go? (1958, p. 452, J-140) which was much more satisfying than this.
