NUTS TO YOU AND NUTS TO ME: An Alphabet of Poems

Hoberman starts with ants and scatters a few through the pages for children to watch for, and she ends with zebra which ""unlike this book"" starts with Z and ends with A. G is for good morning, good night and good-bye, H for hello, Y for yes, and though you'd never guess from these simpler, straighter rhymes that the author had it in her to write The Raucous Auk (KR, 1973), the mood all through is positive and bouncy, the rhythm smooth and free. (Solbert's flat, uncomplicated designs are just as upbeat but somewhat less inventive.)
