KIRKUS REVIEW

A bland story about an ""unidentified death force"" in the process of wiping out the universe (it takes some doing to make that bland), pursued with a faintly old-fashioned stolidity. There's an intrepid intergalactic detective, and a shrewd old yenta from Brooklyn, and a lady doctor with two small kids, and a phosphorescent subterranean civilization, and a sort of computerized vegetable which presides over an interstellar mart, and it's all pleasantly enough handled, and uncannily forgettable.
