An unexceptional confection of a story: Easter animals--chickens, rabbits, ducks--assemble at the ""Easter Farm"" for a parade that delivers Easter baskets to all the animal children in a pretty little village and out in the country. The last little basket turns out to be for the sleeping ladybug. This sentimental bit of fluff is illustrated with a crowd of softly colored, smiling animals looking appropriately benign or grateful; garlands of spring flowers; and baskets generously filled with sweet stuff. Sure to be popular; but the season deserves less trivial treatment, which the author (who is responsible for the popular series about Harry, a kitten) is certainly capable of delivering.
