KIRKUS REVIEW

Lady Mary Clive's memoir of a small girl's stay in a large Edwardian household is a lively account of a lavish time, recorded with the disconcerting to devastating candor of the young visitor. Evelyn, an only child, spends the holiday with Lady Tamerlans and her three sets of grandchildren and the bustle of the full house- with Grandfather, aunts and uncles and swarms of youngsters- is prodigally pleasing.
