PELICAN PARK

The presence of a pair of pelicans in St. James' Park, London, occasions a weak, wordy story involving the hospitalization of Mr. Pelican, poor Mrs. P's languishing, and her subsequent search for him, a clipped wing notwithstanding. Stymied at the zoo (but what a hubbub--everyone thinks one has escaped), she reconnoiters another park where, beset by dogs, she flies into a tree and breaks a wing. Providentially, a little boy who's her longtime admirer is on hand to take her back to St. James' and a speedy reunion/recovery with her spouse.
