FROM THESE ROOTS

A development of the theory that the time is ripe for a leader in literary criticism to come to the fore and negotiate another literary revolution, such as the one that divorced the classicists and brought the romanticists to the fore. She feels that there has been no wholly original note since the period immediately following this revolution, that the moderns have their roots in the past. An interesting theory, once you arrive at an understanding of what she intends. Not easy reading.
